What do you want to build for yourself?

We’ve all heard the saying, “Live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”

It’s great advice…up to a point.

It’s true that any day could be your last.

And you definitely shouldn’t put off your dreams until “someday.”

However, if you literally live as if you’ll die tomorrow, you’ll never build something for the future.

Believe us when we say that long-term projects, the trips that take forever to plan, and the skills that take years to perfrect will be the most fulfilling, impactful things you do.

You definitely don’t want to leave them out of your vision for building a rich life.

To be an experiential billionaire, you need both ends of the spectrum:

The urgent, must-do items and the grand, multiyear ambitions.

So, we want to ask you: What do you want to build for yourself?

What are you willing to work hard for and make sacrifices to achieve?

What’s the compass guiding the overall direction of your life?

To build a life rich in experiences, you need to ask yourself these questions.

If a passion didn’t grab you early, you probably followed whatever path seemed most prudent.

Or, you followed whatever path someone else said you should take.

If this describes you, it’s worth taking the time to find your compass.

One way to do this is to pay attention to your daydreams.

Research suggests 30 to 50 percent of our time is spent daydreaming.

While this fact seems pretty crazy considering it’s half our waking hours:

Those daydreams can shine a light on what you might actually want to be doing.

So, the next time you feel your mind wandering, write down what you’re thinking about.

Do this for a few days or weeks, and you’ll probably start to see some themes emerge.

If you already have a compass for your life, that’s wonderful.

If not, don’t stress.

You don’t have to stop everything and figure it out today—this isn’t something you can force.

It’s a discovery process, so keep digging.

Ask yourself why you do what you do.

Pay attention to your curiosity and desire.

If you stay aware, the picture will become clearer over time.
